Varsity Head Coach- Moira Leavitt          
    Coach Leavitt is the Head Coach, Girls Lacrosse at Archbishop Spalding HS in Severn, MD, where in 2008 she was honored as the Baltimore Sun and Capital Gazette Anne Arundel County Coach of the Year for turning Spalding from a 0-24 program into a 13-5, nationally-ranked Top 25 team.     
    A 1988 graduate of William Smith College, Coach Leavitt played in the NCAA national championship on the Heron lacrosse and field hockey teams. For her efforts Leavitt earned first team all-NY state lacrosse team honors in 1989, was a three time honoree on the NY State Field Hockey team, was twice chosen a Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American, team MVP & captain and received National All-American, honorable mention in 1987.    Coach Leavitt has held numerous coaching positions at the College, High School and Youth levels.
    Her College coaching career includes:
             -Head Coach, Division I Villanova University women’s lacrosse. At the time, she was the youngest coach in Division I ranks and posted the first winning record in program history.
             -Head Coach, Division II Salve Regina University field hockey. She was the inaugural coach for the brand new program.
             -Head Coach, United States Naval Academy women’s club lacrosse. Coach Leavitt served for 6 years at the helm of the nationally ranked United States Naval Academy’s women’s club lacrosse team where she posted a 102-19-0 record. She was twice named the US Lacrosse WDIA Coach of the Year
  
    Her high school coaching career includes:
             -Assistant Coach, Norfolk Academy (Norfolk, VA) field hockey and lacrosse.
            -Head Coach, Catholic High School (Virginia Beach, VA), lacrosse and field hockey.
            -Head Coach, Rancho Bernardo HS (San Diego, CA) lacrosse.
            -Head Coach, Seton Keough HS (Baltimore, MD)  lacrosse and field hockey. 
  
    Other highlights:
             -Honored by then Maryland Governor Ehrlich with the Mid-Atlantic Sports Alliance’s Sportsmanship of the Year Award for 2005.
             -Winner of 2007 Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks BeeBee Castro Award for sportsmanship, positive coaching and creating opportunities for young women in sports

Varsity Assistant Coach- Carey Zinkand  
   Entering her third year on staff,  Coach Zinkand will continue as an assistant on the Varsity team and will also work on skill development across the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman teams. A graduate of the storied Mt. Hebron High School lacrosse program, Coach Zinkand attended Catonsville Community College where was a captain and JUCO All American for the 1999 Junior College Championship team. Coach Zinkand completed her college lacrosse career at UMBC, where she a two-year starter at midfield. She has an extensive background in club and high school coaching, to include previous coaching experience at Seton Keough HS in Baltimore, MD.

 Varsity Assistant Coach- Keith Barkley
    Coach Barkley will be joining the Archbishop Spalding High School Girls Lacrosse coaching staff this year as an assistant on the Varsity team. A graduate of Annapolis High School where he played on and captained two state championships, he first matriculated to Anne Arundel Community College. As a Pioneer, he won a Junior College National Championship and was the National JUCO Player of the Year in 1986. Moving on to Salisbury University, he was a starting midfielder and face off expert. Continuing to play the game at the club level after college, Coach Barkley has over 20 years of playing experience. Moving from the midfield to the sideline, Coach Barkley has eight years of experience coaching girls and boys lacrosse. A cornerstone of the Havre de Grace, MD lacrosse program, he was named the Havre de Grace Girls Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association Coach of the Year in 2007.

Junior Varsity Head Coach- Shannon Garden

   Beginning her second year on staff, Coach Garden will this year be moving to Head Coach for the Junior Varsity team. An assistant on our Freshman team last year,  Coach Garden has over a decade of experience coaching girl’s lacrosse at the youth through high school levels.

Junior Varsity Assistant Coach- Tara Restly

   A first year coach but a long time Cavalier, 2007 Spalding graduate and lacrosse standout Tara Restly returns to her alma mater as the JV Assistant Coach. Since her graduation, Coach Restly has been a varsity lacrosse player at Louisville University. This year she is taking a hiatus from her college playing career and we are very fortunate to have her on staff, where she will play a major role in the development of our student-athletes.

 Freshman Head Coach- Todd Leavitt

   Entering his third year as the Freshman Girl’s Lacrosse coach at Archbishop Spalding High School, Coach Leavitt came to lacrosse later in life. A baseball standout at Princeton University, Coach Leavitt’s fortuitous marriage to the “other” Coach Leavitt awakened a love for lacrosse that has endured. He has played the men’s game at the Master’s and Grand Master’s Club level and for the last nine years has coached girls and boys lacrosse at the youth, scholastic and high school levels.
